Raising Phoenix, the follow up to 2008's Nefertiti Game, shows Neruz in a very different light than his previous releases. Normally a storyteller coldly removed from the subject at hand, Raising Phoenix casts the black one into the lead role. Forced to endure hardship on a personal and community level, he ventures out to restore his once mighty existence to its original luster. May the Phoenix Rise once more.

Thanks to EZ, Blivy, MCD, The GAM, Birdman, Dustin (Site Design), Unconformity (Album Art) and Hoegaarden. Special thanks to Sunny for your help in the early going of this project. Shouts to Phazer for the snares on Man in the Mask and for adding your touch to your two vocal features. Thanks to Spence for doing everything... promo treatment, featuring on two songs, and overall creative guidance... thumbs up. Shouts to Shocks, we tried but just couldn't work you in. But in all reality there's a piece of you in every track. Thanks to the city of Detroit, A2, Lansing, Jackson, GR, & K-Zoo for the inspiration. Here's to growing roses from shit.
